Abstract
This book serves as a resource for nurses providing care to persons with HIV/AIDS across the spectrum of HIV disease and across a variety of practice settings. The expert contributors provide up-to-date information on the HIV pandemic, including HIV/AIDS as a chronic condition internationally served most by primary care community health centers. The book introduces the nurse clinician to the complex concepts, unique issues, and current treatments central to caring for persons with HIV/AIDS from an international nursing perspective. Contributors offer recommendations for nursing assessment, intervention, and evaluation of HIV care in the context of advanced therapies that have prolonged the lives of persons with HIV/AIDS.
