The path of the historian at the turning point of the epochs: about the collection in honor of the 75th anniversary of Professor S. T. Minakov

Abstract

The article reviews the collection "Man, State and Society at the crossroads of epochs" (Moscow, 2022), published on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the birth of S. T. Minakov. The review of the biography of the historian scientist is presented, his scientific interests related to the problems of military history, the history of Ancient Russia and medieval Spain and France, Soviet history of the 1920s and 1930s are characterized. The jubilee collection opens with the memories of his relatives and colleagues. The content of the scientific part of the collection is arranged in chronological order and reflects S. T.'s broad scientific interests to varying degrees. Minakov reveals his creative heritage and translates his scientific concepts. The following blocks are distinguished: ancient history, the turn of the XIX–XX centuries, the revolutionary period, the Soviet period, articles of a methodological and historiographical plan. The reviewed edition presents the reader with an extremely rich portrait of S. T. Minakov not only as a historian, but also as a person with his interests, civic position and personal qualities. The published collection continues the tradition of anniversary publications, rooted in Russian historiography. This collection can also be regarded as a "place of memory", it reveals a panorama of memories about the life of the hero and his modern era. В статье рецензируется сборник «Человек, государство и общество на перекрестье эпох» (Москва, 2022), изданный к 75-летию со дня рождения С. Т. Минакова. Представлен обзор биографии ученого-историка, охарактеризованы его научные интересы, связанные с проблемами военной истории, истории Древней Руси и средневековых Испании и Франции, советской истории 1920–1930-х гг. Юбилейный сборник открывают воспоминания его близких и коллег. Содержание научной части сборника построено в хронологическом порядке и в разной степени отражает широкие научные интересы С. Т. Минакова, раскрывает его творческое наследие и транслирует его научные концепции. Выделяются блоки: древняя история, рубеж XIX–XX вв., революционный период, советский период, статьи методологического и историографического плана. Рецензируемое издание представляет читателю чрезвычайно насыщенный портрет С. Т. Минакова не только как ученого-историка, но и как человека с его интересами, гражданской позицией и личными качествами. Изданный сборник продолжает традицию юбилейных публикаций, укоренившуюся в отечественной историографии. Данный сборник можно расценивать и как «место памяти», в нем раскрыта панорама воспоминаний о жизни героя и современной ему эпохе.
