Abstract

AbstractThe ontogenetic pattern of the human tentorium cerebelli was reconstructed by analyzing the series of stages through which the tentorium passes in the attainment of maturity. The absolute and relative growth rates were calculated for the maximum cranial breadth, maximum cranial length, and various tentorial dimensions. The relationship between the growth of different parameters was established and expressed mathematically according to Huxley's formula (y = bxk). The growth ratios (k) and constants (b) for different combinations of tentorial and cranial parameters were elicited from logarithmic graphs.
