Abstract

Renault and Nissan have decided to develop a new diesel engine family in order to comply with future customer requirements and to prepare for more stringent emission regulations. Some technical innovations such as an overcooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system and a seventh exhaust system fuel injector allow compliance with the Euro 5 emission standard. The first version, the V6 dCi 235, is being launched in the Renault Laguna coupe.
