Abstract

Abstract Borrowing and adapting the tools of a variety of social science disciplines from economics and political science to psychology and sociology-the originators of the New Haven approach developed what they have called a “policy-oriented jurisprudence.” Myres S. McDougal, a Yale law professor and one-time president of the American Society of lnternational Law, and Harold D. Lasswell, a Yale professor of law and political science and one time president of the American Political Science Association, have developed a truly interdisciplinary approach to the study of international rules.
