Abstract
This paper presents a new method for eccentricity fault diagnosis in switched reluctance motor (SRM). This method makes it possible to determine the eccentricity faulty phase. The proposed signature is based on the analysis of produced currents. It is theoretically shown that the occurrence of the fault level cause an increase in amplitude of the produced current, which can be employed to diagnose the fault. According to the obtained results by theoretical analysis, a pattern is introduced in order to detect fault location or faulty phase. A test bed in the laboratory is established to perform various measurements on the eccentric motor with different fault levels.
