This article addresses the following key points: Investment professionals will always face conflicts of interest. Research connects ethical behavior and superior benefits. People overestimate their ability to keep their actions hidden. Ethics are taught by conduct, not by platitudes. The CFA Institute Standards of Professional Conduct can help an investment firm seeking to implement a code of ethics.
