Abstract

The problem of finding dust particles equilibrium states in different normal glow discharge configurations is discussed in this paper. The drift-diffusion equations are used in order to obtain a distribution of parameters in a glow discharge. The equilibrium states of dust particles in plasma can be found using the method of molecular dynamics. The OMLtheory and qualitative formula derived from the physical considerations are used in the study in order to estimate a dust grain charge. The investigation of influence of these models on the equilibrium characteristics of dust structures is presented in the paper.
