Abstract
The fact that cold resistance of tea plant was very low At its young stage was well demonstrated by the tests of osmotic pressure, plasmolytic permeability and hydrophilic colloid.In the early growth stage, the relation between cold resistance and osmotic pressure was insignificant. The growth seemed to have some effect on cold resistance. It could be considered that the variation of cold resistance caused by other factors as above mentioned was the main cause of ineffectiveness of early individual selection.
