Abstract

Two optical methods for measuring small linear motions have been used, and some results obtained thereby are reproduced. The first makes use of two microscope objectives and depends on lenticular magnification for high sensitivity; the second uses a concave mirror and two prism systems, high sensitivity being obtained by means of prismatic magnification.
