Abstract

Chairman Mao teaches us that experience merits attention. We must therefore pay attention to historical experience when running a May 7 cadre school. Previously, certain Party schools and cadre schools were run under the influence of, or in accordance with, the counterrevolutionary revisionist line of the renegade Liu Shao-ch'i. One of their basic characteristics was to alienate their students from the millions of masses as well as from the dynamic Three Great Revolutionary Struggles. The students wore cadres' uniforms, ate cadres' food, and spoke in cadres' jargon. They devoted themselves to self-cultivation and reflected on their misdeeds behind closed doors. [A reference to Liu Shao-ch'i's work: How to Be a Good Communist — Tr.] Schools run in this manner could in no way cultivate proletarian cadre ranks.
