Abstract

This paper analyzes the impact of modern political challenges on the situation in the Arctic region of the Russian Federation, which predetermine the formation of legal protection and stability on the territory of the Russian Federation. The authors considered the Maritime Doctrine of the Russian Federation as a fundamental basis for the formation of Arctic policy in the near future. In the course of the study, an attempt was made to indicate the importance of strategic planning for the development of the northern territories of the Russian Federation. This article indicates that different approaches to the definition of the legal regime of the Arctic lead to the need to address a different range of issues due to the fact that the Arctic region intersects issues of national sovereignty and security, vast territories with a special climate, the ecological situation in which affects the climate of the entire planet.
