Abstract
The Low Frequency Facility(LFF) experiment plans to make a measurement of the displacement thermal noise of two mirrors, suspended to the last stage of the VIRGO suspension. The expected displacement target sensitivity is 10-18 m / √Hz at around 10 Hz, enough to measure outside resonance the thermal noise spectrum. We give the basic principle of the experiment and its progress report.
