Abstract

During the production process of electronic products, the accuracy of chip component placement on printed circuit boards is crucial and directly affects the realization of product functions. This article introduces a rectangular pin part positioning method based on point set registration to obtain the exact position of the chip component during the placement process. The model point set is built from the component's datasheet. The feature points extracted from the component image are filtered according to the structure feature and the reckon angle to construct a data point set. A rigid point set registration algorithm is used to solve the alignment problem between these two point sets to obtain the offset and rotation angle. Compared with the Halcon algorithm, the Samsung method, and the state-of-the-art method, the positioning results show an advantage.
