Abstract
A National Curriculum for postgraduate science teachertraining courses in England and Wales was first introduced inSeptember 1999. In this article the new curriculum andassociated assessment procedures are reviewed and points fordiscussion raised. Particular attention is paid to theimplications for prospective high school physics teachers.
