Abstract
The adsorption of TBP on the mercury electrode was investigated by impedance measurements in the potential range 0 to −1.5 V vs. 1 M NaCl calomel electrode. The dependence of the rate constants of the reduction of U(VI) ions on the electrode potential and on the concentration of TBP were determined from the polarographic measurements. The tunneling process of the electron transfer across the film of adsorbed molecules of TBP to U(VI) ions is suggested.
