  • Maria Lupita Nena Meo + 2 more

Introduction: High-risk pregnancies are a major cause of maternal morbidity and mortality, both on a global and national scale. Tuminting Public Health Center, which is a partner in the Community Partnership Empowerment activities, has a significant number of patients with high-risk pregnancies. This indicates an urgent need for the care of high-risk pregnant women. Pregnant women with high-risk pregnancies require priority and continuous care, including early screening/detection, monitoring, and support. However, a situation analysis at the partner site has identified several issues, including: 1) Posyandu cadres are not actively involved in supporting high-risk pregnant women, resulting in these women not receiving appropriate healthcare for their pregnancy conditions. 2) Health promotion media for high-risk pregnant women is limited, preventing these women from receiving accurate health information tailored to their condition. The objectives of these activities are to enhance the role of cadres in supporting high-risk pregnant women and to improve the availability of health promotion media as a support tool for cadres in their role. Methods: To address these issues, the proposers offer the following solutions: 1) Training on early detection, monitoring, and support for posyandu cadres using a psychoeducational approach.2) Training on the use of digital media for health promotion for high-risk pregnant women for cadres. Results: This training was attended by 37 cadres at Tuminting Public Health Center. Participants' knowledge levels were evaluated before and after the activity. The evaluation of these activities showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating that there was a difference in the knowledge of the training participants before and after the training. Conclusion: Training activities with a psychoeducational approach can improve the knowledge of cadres, enabling them to enhance their role in early detection and support for high-risk pregnant women.

Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problem caused by inadequate nutritional intake for a long time. There are around 8-10 children under the stunting category in Meunasah Intan Village, Aceh Besar District. The actions taken by Integrated Healthcare Center (posyandu) cadres are providing counseling about feeding, motor stimulation, and working together with nutrition workers at the puskesmas. This study uses a pre-experimental design type one group pretest-posttest design. The population is Posyandu cadres, Gampong Meunasah Intan, Kuta Baro District, Aceh Besar Regency with 14 cadres. Based on the results of the counseling, it is known that the average level of knowledge of cadres before being given counseling is 9.64 and after being given counseling is 11.50. The level of knowledge of cadres before and after being given counseling experienced a significant increase, namely 0.00 < 0.05. So, it can be concluded that there are differences in the level of knowledge of cadres about stunting prevention before and after being given counseling. This shows that this change is sufficient to improve the knowledge of posyandu cadres about stunting to be used as capital in carrying out monitoring activities for growth and nutritional status at the posyandu, as well as being able to provide counseling to families of children under five who are at risk or experiencing stunting.

In Indonesia, Posyandu cadres play an essential role as agents of change in reducing maternal and infant mortality rates. This study aimed to analyze the motivation and rewards toward the activity of Posyandu cadres. The research design was cross-sectional, with the independent variables being the motivation and rewards of cadres and the dependent variable was the activity of Posyandu cadres. Collecting data used questionnaires and interviews and the data analysis used univariate and bivariate. The results of the study inform that most Posyandu cadres were not active in Posyandu activities and most of cadres have moderate motivation and insufficient rewards. This was caused by demographic factors, lack of rewards or incentives received, inadequate infrastructure, and lack of attention from the government and the community. Furthermore, there is an influence of motivation and rewards received by cadres toward the activity of Posyandu cadres. High motivation and adequate rewards will spur Posyandu cadres to increase their activities. Therefore, it is important to enhance the motivation and rewards by developing several strategies to increase the Posyandu cadre’s activity.
