Abstract
The paper presents own research and analysis of the surface roughness impact of three types of natural aggregate: granite, basalt, and gravel on adhesion in the Interfacial Tranzition Zone (ITZ). A difference was found in changes in the stress intensity factor (KIC) and the compressive strength (fc) of concretes depending on nature of the surface roughness of the aggregates tested. The tests carried out can be helpful in practical applications in concrete design issues.
