Abstract

Objective To investigate the influence of self-nursing group pattern on the ability of self-nursing and mental health of the elderly convalescent patients with leprosy. Methods In this study, 80 cases of elderly convalescent patients with leprosy from the rehabilitation center of the hospital were studied, and were divided into two groups according to the random number table method.The 40 patients of the observation group implemented self-nursing group pattern, and 40 patients of the control group adopted the routine nursing mode.Their daily life quality and status of depression were compared. Results The depression score of the two groups had no difference, compared with that of pre-nursing.The levels of depression of the patients in the observation group after self-nursing team pattern intervention was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the daily life capacity of the two groups before nursing intervention.After nursing intervention, each dimension score of patients' daily life ability of the two groups were significantly increased.In addition to the control of bath, shitting and urinating, BI score of the observation group patients were higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions The elderly convalescent patients with the self-nursing group pattern can improve the self-care ability and the mental health condition, prevent the leprosy disability, and improve the quality of life of elderly patients with leprosy rehabilitation.
