Abstract

The influence of loading waveform on crack growth rate ( da dN ) of corrosion fatigue (CF) was studied for iron in 3.5%NaCl and 3.5%NaCl + 1%NaNO 2 solutions at different applied potentials. The results showed that the effect of loading mode on da dN of CF depends on the stress intensity factor range, the applied potential and the passivation state of system. The action mechanism of the loading waveform in the different conditions is discussed.
