THE INDICES OF LIPID METABOLISM, OXIDATIVE-ANTIOXIDATIVE HOMEOSTASIS, CONTENTS OF FINAL NITROGEN MONOXIDE METABOLITES IN THE BLOOD OF PATIENTS WITH ESSENTIAL HYPERTENSION AND COMORBID ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE AND TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS

Abstract

206 patients with essential hypertension (EH) have been examined including 30 ones with II stage of EH, 56 – with II stage of EH with comorbid ischemic heart disease (IHD), 65 – with II stage of EH and comorbid type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), and 55 – with III stage of EH and comorbid IHD. The state of the blood lipid spectrum, the indices of oxidative-antioxidative homeostasis, total level of final nitrogen monoxide (NO) metabolites in the blood plasma have been determined. A reliable increase of the concentrations of total cholesterol, triacylglycerols, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, decreased contents of high density lipoprotein cholesterol, an increased concentration of Malone aldehyde of the blood plasma and erythrocytes, decreased contents of reduced glutathione (RG), lower activity of glutathione peroxidase (GP), catalase (CT), total level of NO final metabolites were found. Comorbid course of II-III stages of EH, HIS and type 2 DM is characterized by more pronounced and reliable disorders of lipid metabolism, activation of lipid peroxide oxidation, decreased level of RG, increased activity of GP and CT, increased contents of NO final metabolites in the blood.
