Movement-based games (MBGs) are considered an effective means of physical education, especially in developing physical fitness among preschool children. The purpose of this study is to evaluate their effectiveness in enhancing the physical qualities of children aged 5–6 years. A total of 60 healthy children aged 5–6 were randomly selected and divided into two groups: an experimental group (EG) with 30 children, who participated in movement-based games designed by the research team, and a control group (CG) with 30 children, who followed the school's standard physical activity program. This study employed six criteria to assess the development of physical fitness qualities in 5–6-year-old children, including: 18-meter sprint; dominant-hand distance throw; standing long jump; ball bouncing and catching; one-leg balance; and a 75-second endurance run. The results after 12 weeks of applying MBGs show that the experimental group achieved higher growth rates across all six physical fitness tests compared to the control group. Among these, the throwing and catching ball test showed the highest improvement at 35.17%, while the standing long jump recorded the lowest increase at 8.66%. Although the control group also exhibited some changes in physical qualities between the pre-test and post-test, these differences were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). These results demonstrate that the use of movement-based games (MBGs) is more effective in improving children’s physical fitness than the current educational program. We recommend actively integrating MBGs into the teaching process to enhance the quality of physical education in preschools.

  • Dec 28, 2020
  • Scientific Journal of National Pedagogical Dragomanov University Series 15 Scientific and pedagogical problems of physical culture (physical culture and sports)
  • Alexander Panasyuk + 2 more

Purpose: theoretically and experimentally substantiate the model of the development of physical qualities of karatekas in the conditions of the training process in a sports school. Material and methods: young men (25 people) of 10th - 11th grades of Lutsk secondary schools took part in the study. Research methods: data analysis of special scientific and methodical literature, pedagogical methods, methods of mathematical statistics. Results: each training block includes 3 test exercises that were included in the karate training process. First and after the block was included in the training process, the young men, who were engaged in the experimental group, performed tests, and the results were collected. The results of the conducted pedagogical experiment revealed the effectiveness of the proposed model for the development of physical qualities of karatekas in the training process. Analysis of the data characterizing the state of physical fitness and physical development allows us to state that there is a significant improvement in indicators in the experimental group as compared to the control group.
The results obtained, both in general and with special physical fitness in the experimental group, show that significant differences are observed in the tests: "running in place with a high hip lift", "running from a high start to 30 meters", "bending forward from a position lying on his stomach”,“raising straight legs to the sides”, “raising straight arms up while lying on his stomach”, “shuttle”running 3x10 m, “jumping with 180º rotation”, “three forward turns while maintaining balance”. In terms of physical readiness indicators in the experimental group, the results are higher than in the control group. The increase in results in the test "running in place with a high hip lift" was 17.88 % in the experimental group, 6.6 % - in the control; in the test "running 30 meters" - 14.4 % - in the experimental group, in the control group - 4.8 %; in the test "lifting from parterre to standing" - 30.8 % - in the experimental group, 7.9 % - in the control; in the test "bending forward from a sitting position, legs apart" - 25.0 % - in the experimental group, 93.0 % in the control; in the test "dilution of straight legs to the sides" - 35.0 % in the experimental group, 17.4 % - in the control; in the test "raising arms up from a prone position" - 43.6 % in the experimental group, 19.7 % in the control group.
These tests determined those physical qualities that were purposefully developed in the training process of the experimental group separately according to the developed block model of the development of physical qualities. In terms of physical development, significant differences are observed in the experimental group in the indicator - the strength of the right and left hand, where the increase in results is 7.9 %, respectively; in the control group, there is an increase in the indicator of the strength of the right hand - 1.3 %. Conclusions: training blocks are implemented in one of three parts of training sessions, depending on the quality being developed, based on the active use of the in-line method of motor actions fulfillment and includes specially selected complexes of test exercises aimed at speed, flexibility, dexterity. The development of physical qualities among karatekas in the traini ng process provides effective indicators of physical fitness, testifies to the feasibility of using the proposed model to improve the process of physical training in sports schools.

The purpose of the article is to determine the organizational and methodological conditions of organizing physical education and health classes in floorball for children 5-6 years in the educational process. Theoretical analysis and generalization of data from literature sources and experience of best practice in physical education of preschool children, as well as pedagogical experiment, were used. Determining the organizational and methodological conditions of the preschool education institution №18 “Zirnytsia” was necessary for our pedagogical experiment. Effectively organized physical culture and health classes in a preschool education institution can implement the marketing component of educational services, as it is a step towards raising the level of the institution, a condition for improving teachers’ professionalism, a stimulus to creative search for new tools for preschool development and education. Among the newest means of development and education of preschool children it is expedient to use means of sports game in floorball. Methods of forming theoretical knowledge were used for realization of the physical culture and health program; mastering motor skills and development of physical qualities. The load was regulated by observation, which revealed the degree of fatigue of children by external signs. Attention was paid to skin color, degree of sweating, facial expression, breathing patterns, coordination of children’s movements and attention, no complaints of fatigue and more. Thus, physical culture and health classes with the use of floorball for older preschool children contributed to the comprehensive development of physical and mental qualities. Such classes were characterized by the presence of mutual conditioning of children’s behavior, which contributed to moral education (collectivism, camaraderie, conscious discipline). Prospects for further research will be related to the development of a program of physical education and health classes in floorball for junior pupils.

The Relationship between Physical Qualities and Activity Profiles of International Women’s Sevens Players
  • May 15, 2018
  • Tyler L Goodale

Due to its inclusion in the recent Olympic Games, women’s Rugby Sevens has experienced a marked increase in popularity. As a result of the sports’ emergent nature the player profile and performance demands of women’s Rugby Sevens remain poorly understood. Rugby Sevens is a modified game of 15-a-side Rugby Union, played under similar laws but with fewer players per side and for less total game time. The sport is played in a tournament format with multiple games played in one day and across a 2 to 3-day period. Rugby Sevens is one of the few true contact sports played by females and is therefore unique in this regard. A lack of research into the specific demands of the game and physical qualities of the players means that the majority of training decisions for the sport are based on research performed on males playing either Rugby Sevens or other Rugby codes. As sex differences specific to elite sport performance are known to exist, basing training prescriptions for females on male-specific research requires a number of assumptions to be made, which is unfair and potentially inappropriate to female athletes of any playing ability. Based on the identified gaps in the literature, the purpose of this thesis was to first characterize 1) the physical qualities of players; and 2) the game demands of international women's Rugby Sevens; and 3) to then examine the interaction between these aspects of the game. To achieve these aims, it was important in Study 1 to first identify physical qualities that discriminated playing rank in women’s Rugby Sevens. Then, in Study 2, the characteristics of game activity and physiological demands of international women's Rugby Sevens were profiled and further investigated for how these demands changed in relation to key contextual factors such as: game half, game outcome, game margin, tournament day and playing position. Study 3 examined game demands in further detail specifically relating to the tactical phases of play; attack and defense. The interaction between tactical phase demands and game outcome was examined in order to profile successful style of play. Finally, Study 4 examined the relationships among physical qualities, game demands and contextual factors with the aim of identifying the physical qualities important for success at the international level. The international game of women’s Rugby Sevens is a physically demanding game, requiring athletes to run at and maintain high-speeds while under significant physiological strain. High- speed running ability across games and relative to minutes played was positively related to a number of contextual factors including game half, game outcome, game margin and opponent rank. High-speed running demands were consistently greater in defense than attack. To support the demands of the international game, women’s Rugby Sevens players are required to have well- developed strength, aerobic fitness, speed and repeated-sprint abilities. The development of these physical qualities, which were also found to underpin in-game activity and physiological profiles, will help to support successful game outcomes. Collectively, this thesis has provided a foundation and pragmatic level of knowledge on elite performance in women’s Rugby Sevens. Specifically, the development of physical qualities that support high-speed running ability may best prepare and maintain women for international-level competition in Rugby Sevens.

The study aimed to assess the effects of swimming and track running training on the physical condition, physical fitness level, health coefficient, and working capacity of students. The experiment involved 50 male students with a mean age of 20.16±1.4 years, studying at a pedagogical university in Uzbekistan. Over a threeyear period, their physical condition was monitored using morphofunctional methods, physical working capacity was evaluated through the Harvard step test, and physical fitness was assessed with standard control exercises for the development of basic physical qualities. The health coefficient was calculated based on heart rate, blood pressure, body mass, height, and age. Data processing was performed using mathematical and statistical methods, including the calculation of arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and the Student’s t-test to determine the significance of differences. The results showed a positive dynamic in the development of physical qualities and working capacity in both groups; however, swimming training led to more pronounced improvements across most measured indicators. The level of physical condition and the health coefficient increased to a greater extent in the swimming group compared to the running group. The findings confirm the high effectiveness of cyclic aerobic exercises, particularly swimming, for improving students’ health and enhancing their functional capabilities.

Development of physical qualities of football players in the training process
  • Nov 16, 2023
  • Scientific Journal of National Pedagogical Dragomanov University. Series 15. Scientific and pedagogical problems of physical culture (physical culture and sports)
  • Ihor Malynskyi + 3 more

In this article, we will look at what is necessary to develop the physical qualities of football players and their further improvement.
Football training, if properly organized, is a powerful means of developing physical qualities that shape the general and special physical fitness and performance of young football players.
In addition, the game of football requires comprehensive training, due to frequently changing game situations associated with a variety of dynamic individual and collective actions.
In Ukraine, despite the great enthusiasm for football, experts point out that the players of the leading Ukrainian clubs lag far behind the best world and European teams in terms of individual technical, tactical and physical fitness. Physical fitness is of particular importance for young football players and the martial law makes it difficult for Ukrainian clubs to hold matches at home, which in turn is another disadvantage, as our players do not feel the proper psychological and moral support that is necessary to fulfill their tasks.
The physical fitness of football players is one of the important components on which the activity and effectiveness of team, group and individual technical and tactical actions depend.
The development of physical qualities in football players has its own characteristics. Speed - the ability of a football player to perform actions in the minimum time for the given conditions for the minimum period of time. Effective means for the development of physical qualities are physical exercises in pairs, and the rest interval between them should be should be optimal for the recovery of the body. By the same means you can to develop speed endurance, but rest intervals should be limited. Such exercises should be included at the beginning of the main part of the training session, followed by exercises to develop endurance and strength.

  • Nov 27, 2020
  • Scientific Journal of National Pedagogical Dragomanov University. Series 15. Scientific and pedagogical problems of physical culture (physical culture and sports)
  • Valeriy Boiko + 2 more

The essence and features of the physical development of girls of primary school age are considered in the article. The foundations of the development of physical qualities at the age of 6-10 years are analyzed. The concept of aerobics as an instrument of health improvement is given and its effect on body is indicated. The basic requirements for aerobics classes for girls of primary school age are determined and some of the most favorable exercises for achieving the desired goals are highlighted. The analysis of the research results indicates that the use of aerobic exercises not only contributes to the development of specific physical qualities - speed, strength endurance, agility (coordination), flexibility, but also it is able to develop musicality, memory and attentiveness, stabilize the nervous system, improve psycho-emotional state and general well-being. The pedagogical observation was conducted during the period from September, 14 to November 1, 2020. Its base is ‘Ruda Vorona’ in Irpin. The research involved (n = 20) girls aged 6-10 years. The main obstacles for using the aerobics exercises in the training process are a significant load on the girls' body and a high risk of injury, that increase the level of teacher responsibility and provide for the constant monitoring of the child's health and, if it is necessary, individual selection of exercises. That is why, it is important to use not only traditional general developmental exercises that are common in aerobics and are previously researched, but implement the modern methods, that are based on using innovative health technologies.

Historical analysis of the development of powerlifting. Powerlifting. Stages of the learning process. Competition texchniques
  • Jun 22, 2021
  • Scientific Journal of National Pedagogical Dragomanov University. Series 15. Scientific and pedagogical problems of physical culture (physical culture and sports)
  • Svitlana Тymchik + 1 more

At the present stage of the study, powerlifting is one of the priority sports in Ukraine among various segments of the population. This is a fairly new and modern sport with a huge history, which has played an important role in the formation and implementation of sports activities.
The popularity of powerlifting is due to its simplicity, accessibility for a large number of categories of the population, fast results with the right technique and strong-willed qualities of character, it is also important to have a positive impact on the athlete's health. and the psychological state of man.
Powerlifting classes increase muscle strength, strengthen ligaments and joints, help to develop endurance, flexibility and other physical qualities, cultivate willpower, self-confidence, increase the efficiency of the whole organism.
Strength sports have always been popular among athletes and people who strive to lead a healthy lifestyle. Recently, this area of sport is developing particularly rapidly, such relatively new types as bodybuilding, powerlifting, bench press, arm wrestling, armlifting, workout have become widespread. The main problem faced by athletes and coaches is the almost complete lack of competent training systems for these power sports, as well as in the process of competitive training: the requirements and features of competitive activities. The reason is clear and quite objective - the relative novelty and lack of theoretical basis. Now the only possible way to create a training technique is mechanical borrowing from other sports, mainly from weightlifting.
Powerlifting (from English. Powerlifting, power - strength, lifting - lifting) - power triathlon, includes three competitive exercises with a barbell: squats, bench press and traction.
Powerlifting sports training is a process aimed at comprehensive and systematic improvement of all physical and moral qualities that are leading in this sport. Sports training in powerlifting includes training in the technique of competitive exercises (squats, bench press, traction position) and the development of physical qualities with special auxiliary exercises with a barbell and other types of weights.
Despite the fact that powerlifting does not require special technical skills. The three movements of the competition look simple and, it would seem, with some physical strength you can show significant results. However, as in any other sport, powerlifting has many nuances and factors, despite which it is impossible to talk about any results. First of all, these are the general basics of technique, as well as individually selected techniques and training methods that take into account age, anatomical, biomechanical, psychological characteristics of the athlete, his physical fitness. Since all three movements in powerlifting are associated with a heavy load on the joint and musculoskeletal system, any serious powerlifting is impossible without constant medical supervision (at least once a month). Not the last role is played by the training and competitive equipment meeting the requirements of the international standards and the equipment of the athlete.
