Abstract
This paper presents a methodology for evaluating the targeted energy saving potential in a SME that has been developed and validated in the framework of the H2020 SMEmPower Efficiency project, based on a Monitoring & Targeting tool, with the goal of assisting in overcoming the barriers that are limiting the adoption of energy efficiency measures in the SMEs sector, mainly addressing informational and organizational issues. As a case study, the approach was used in a SME operating in Romania’s building construction industry. Once the company’s energy profile was designed, the Monitoring & Targeting tool simulation resulted in a number of energy savings and CO2 emission reduction targets. These targets were the basis for a set of specific energy efficiency (technical and organizational) measures suited to the company’s requirements.
