Abstract

The article is devoted to the lexical and stylistic analysis of Andrey Kolesnikov's political news reportage in terms of its compliance with the traditional genre characteristics. The author's speech techniques of building a dialogue with the reader are evaluated in the light of their pragmatic potential. The paper concludes that not only does Andrey Kolesnikov's reportage acquire analytical features, but also it turns into a multifunctional genre, in which the convergence of such art and journalistic genres as feuilleton and essay is observed. The reporter's communication strategy is based on irony and it forms the individual author's style of Andrey Kolesnikov, which consists in a specific selection and organization of linguistic means: formal topic is covered by informal means. The reportages’ nature is entertaining. This allows the author to realize the main communication goal, i.e. to critically describe and evaluate the events that make up the information occasion.
