Introduction to the Special Issue on Social Justice, Liberation, and Action

In building organizational behavior, we must pay attention to individual aspects in terms of values, attitudes and organizational job satisfaction. According to McShane & Von Glinow (2010) Values ​​are interpreted as a reflection of a person's personality in guiding various provisions or decisions and actions in accordance with the work of the organization. Attitudes are basically evaluative statements, either favorable or unfavorable regarding objects, people or events. Attitude reflects how someone feels about something. A gentle attitude is a very important attitude and must be possessed, especially for a leader, to gain sympathy from the people he leads. Meanwhile, according to Mangkunegara (2005), job satisfaction can be measured by: How a leader places his subordinates in jobs that suit their talents and interests; The implementation of quality supervision, financial guarantees, opportunities for promotion, social interactions and working relationships within teams also influence a person's job satisfaction.

Career guidance is one aspect of developmental guidance, so it is very necessary throughout a child's development. According to Holland, a very basic important element is that choosing and adapting a career is a reflection of a person's personality. One's career choice will represent an expansion of one's personality and an attempt to implement a broad range of personal behavioral styles within the context of one's work life. The subjects in this research were students in class IX-3 with a total of 30 students. The data collection technique used to analyze the data was by distributing questionnaires over a number of sheets of paper and analyzing them again using a Google Form review and the percentage results are then managed to find problems. This research uses primary data sources, the data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis . So research results were found which showed that some students at the school did not have interest and talent in investigative and conventional environmental models. So that there is no suitability for applying Tom Holland's theory among students, which means that the problem is found in the field of learning, namely learning difficulties in understanding regular number calculations as well as well-organized language and the intellectual domain which influences the personality in determining the next career direction. because it is difficult to be an individual who is systematic and structured and has good and thorough planning. What role a counselor can play in providing career guidance services really depends on the focus of the career guidance/counseling they are dealing with.

The study of Aqidah has been found to be of great importance in the education of students. The scope of Aqidah that allows students to form noble morals will result in them becoming qualified humans in all aspects of life. From the perspective of Aqidah, which plays a role in the formation of human morals, it can be said that humans can avoid despicable morals as a manifestation of the teachings of Islamic Aqidah. The morals derived from the Qur'an and hadith serve as the foundation for the development of spiritual values, which in turn produce quality generations. Aqidah and morals are inextricably linked; noble morals serve as a reflection of a person's personality and can elevate one's status. Moral education can be considered a form of moral education within the context of Islamic education. The objective of this study is to examine the learning of moral creed among students at XYZ School, and to assess the efficacy of this learning in fostering the formation of religious character. The study employs a multi-methodological approach, including observational techniques, in-depth interviews, and the analysis of documentary materials. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of moral creed learning at XYZ School has a significant impact on fostering the realization of student morals. The cultivation of character education is a value that should be embraced as a foundation of nationhood, as it serves as a cornerstone for Indonesian children to cultivate the requisite qualities to thrive as citizens of a nation, in alignment with the character values that are reflective of the nation's cultural heritage.. It is a highly effective approach that enables students to learn how to have morals towards themselves, to parents, to fellow friends, and to the wider community, which can be applied in everyday life.

The home should support life activities, normal daily functioning systems and family individuals by providing some degree of control over the physical environment, encouraging social, religious and environmental interaction. Housing design is now heavily influenced by other cultures and does not reflect the lifestyle of the community, especially the Malays. Many previous researchers are aware that multi-storey house architecture is not suitable for Malay culture. Housing recovery is often seen as a reflection of a person's personality, interests, lifestyle, values, and social standing. Studies have shown that traditional Malay house design (RTM) has design principles that solve many problems related to the environment, social and religious nature. Making it a superior design, evergreen with a superior Malay house design style should be used as a guide in the interior design of multi-storey housing. This study examines the concept of RTM, identifying mobile (flexible), open space design planning with the characteristics of various RTM through environmental, social and Islamic perspectives. The results reveal an understanding of the value and design requirements that will influence the interior space planning of Malays living in multi-storey housing and further suggest a framework of thought and design criteria for multi-storey housing space.

Quaternarists often point to the likely policy relevance of their papers, usually without ideas for how their work could influence policy. I provide a set of personal experiences and reflections on how research influenced policy, or failed to do so, contextualized by an account of the nature of evidence–based policy making and on ways in which scientists can present themselves to policy makers. I conclude with suggestions for those who wish to influence policy.

Starting my NP career in the bush

The Educational Lockout of African Americans in Prince Edward County, Virginia (1959-1964): Personal Accounts and Reflections provides ground-breaking research on the historical events surrounding the Prince Edward County's school closings. For five years (1959-1964), the families of 1,700 African American students were forced to cope with the absence of public schooling in the county. Their efforts led to the case Davis v. the County School Board of Prince Edward County, which was one of the cases that were consolidated with Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas. The book offers the reader two exciting sections. In the first section, the contributing authors provide interesting findings on Grassroots schools, the Kennedy administration, and an African American movement during the Prince Edward County school closings. In the second section, the authors provide the reader with personal reflections and a lecture from four professors whose parents were affected by the Prince Edward County lockout. Three of the four professors were graduates of the Prince Edward County school system.

This paper explores the impact Peter Huxley had on one of his PhD students who went on to forge a career in mental health social work research. It provides a personal reflection on the stimulus and inspiration Peter provided through his research interests and his concern for methodological rigour. The paper relates a sequence of events through the author’s research career and their origins in Peter’s work. This began with a piece of practice research which provided a gateway to a Fellowship. Alongside PhD research, they collaborated on mental health social work workforce research and the development of social outcome measures in mental health services. This provided the foundation for the author’s subsequent focus on intervention research, through which Peter’s legacy is evident.

This dissertation examines the health impacts of parental incarceration and the pursuit of healing at individual, familial, and societal levels. While existing research highlights the trauma caused by parental incarceration, this study expands on the literature by examining the dual role of an adult child of an incarcerated parent, who also took on caregiving responsibilities, a perspective often overlooked. Using autoethnography, this research explores how personal reflection, family dialogue, and policy critique can promote healing and inform systemic change. Paper 1, "Cleanin' Out My Closet: Epistolary Writing as a Tool to Encourage Personal Reflection and Influence Health Policy," utilizes letter-writing as a self-care and healing strategy, promoting health and well-being through personal and collective reflection with family. Paper 2, "Family Business: Confronting the Trauma of Parental Incarceration as a Strategy for Individual and Collective Healing," documents family conversations through digital storytelling, offering a model for collective healing and challenging the stigma around silence. Paper 3, "Cranes in the Sky: A Review of Literature and Policy Review," examines the impact of mass incarceration policies on Black women and communities of color, with a focus on maternal incarceration and its implications for children and caregivers. Healing is a collective process, and this study reveals how addressing trauma through storytelling and dialogue can support coping, wellness, and resilience. Its findings underscore the importance of integrating lived experiences into policy discussions to combat generational trauma, foster long-term mental health, and promote community well-being.

The present systematic review examines Carol A. Chapelle’s contributions to language assessment and education. The data include the review and analysis of all of her published research works (with some exceptions) relevant to language assessment, applied linguistics, and technology literacy from the 1980s to the present. To accomplish the objectives of the study, it was outlined and tackled in six sections including background, methodology, themes and overall achievements, exclusion and inclusion rules, systematic review and Carol Chapelle’s personal reflection. First, in procedural terms, we struggled to access her all research works. Then, three macro-themes (Language Assessment, Applied Linguistics and Technology Literacy) and five micro-themes were derived from her whole research works. Next, a subjective methodology was developed for the purpose of the study, with reference to which some exclusion and inclusion rules were coined and then applied to the decision regarding the types of research works to review and analyze, i.e., journal articles, books and book chapters. After that, the systematic analysis was conducted and finally, Carol A. Chapelle provided her own personal discussion and reflection of this systematic review.

A threshold concept can be considered as a gateway, opening up a new way of thinking about something. In this paper, I share my personal journey and reflections as I embark upon a professional doctorate programme. I share my changing ontological and epistemological views as I undertake a paradigm shift moving from clinician to researcher. As a consequence of understanding a threshold concept, I will share my transformed worldview and the impact of this upon my doctoral studies.

In this poignant book, Lisa Cherry brings together a collection of candid and personal reflections on the care system in the UK, offering alternative ways of thinking about the care experience, supporting better ways of working, and providing justification for a trauma-informed lens to be applied to all forms of work with those in care. Through personal insights and reflections, the book brings often-unheard stories vividly to life, beginning with the author’s own. These are stories about love and pain; hurt and isolation; the depth of lived experience that makes up a life; how we live our lives through our relationships with others and where we feel we fit in. In this thoughtfully compiled third edition, original contributors look back on their own reflections from the lives that they live now, new stories bring new perspectives, and discussion points provide the opportunity to consider the realities of the care experience as well as life beyond. Whilst each story is unique, shared themes reveal the truth of the care system and, coming at a time where there is a real opportunity for change, the narratives in this book are ultimately stories of hope and connection. This is crucial reading for policy makers, those working in social work, education and adoption, as well as care experienced adults.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to offer a personal critical reflection on the future of intellectual capital (IC) based on my experience as an IC researcher, author, editor, teacher and practitioner. Design/methodology/approach – Offers a first-hand reflection on the future of IC, using evidence collected from IC in the field and the author’s personal reflections. Findings – I argue that the authors need to abandon reporting and instead concentrate on how an organisation discloses what “was previously secret or unknown”, so that all stakeholders understand how an organisation takes into consideration ethical, social and environmental impacts in keeping with an eco-systems approach to IC. Research limitations/implications – While much of the empirical evidence presented in this paper is freely available to all scholars, the interpretation and findings is subjective. Other researchers, given the same opportunity and evidence, may not necessarily make the same conclusions. Social implications – We are now on the cusp of the fourth stage of IC research (Dumay, 2013), whereby IC expands its boundaries into the wider eco-system, to “go beyond IC reporting” (Edvinsson, 2013, p. 163). Originality/value – Offers a critical review of the impact of IC reporting which is relevant to consider because of the newfound resurging interest in IC, based on the current push for integrated reporting ( < IR > ), which arguably contains IC information targeted at investors.

In this article a founding member of the Rural Theology Association offers a personal and insightful reflection on the country church through the two decades of the 1980s and 1990s which he characterizes as Decade of Hope and Decade of Evangelism respectively. This reflection situates the key books that discussed the opportunities and challenges facing the rural church during these two decades.
