Abstract

The estimation procedure of electromagnetic parameters of an induction motor secondary multi-loop equivalent circuit is presented in the paper. The procedure is based on the knowledge of the frequency characteristics of the inductance associated with the magnetic flux in the air gap on the stator surface, derived from an electromagnetic field solution or determined through measurement. The estimation of equivalent circuit electromagnetic parameters has been carried out with the use of the genetic algorithm. In order to reduce the search space of potential solutions, electromagnetic parameters, determined on the basis of the electromagnetic field analysis conducted analytically, have been used to define the variability bounds of chromosomes particular elements of the initial and subsequent populations. Founded on the analytical calculations, the number of parallel connected two-terminals of the equivalent secondary circuit has been determined in respect of the required accuracy of the rotor admittance frequency characteristic representation by the circuit in the considered frequency range.
