Abstract

Within the past year and a half, three exhibitions have presented important collections of French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings to the American public: The New Painting: Impressionism 1874-1886, Impressionist to Early Modern Paintings from the U.S.S.R., and Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Masterpieces: The Courtauld Collection.
