Abstract

Two carbene ligands bound to zirconium: Complex 1 was synthesized under mild conditions by reaction of CH2(Me2P=NSiMe3)2 with [Zr(CH2C6H5)4] in a 2:1 ratio. The resulting complex 1 is the first biscarbene complex of a Group 4 metal. Si*=SiMe3.
