Abstract

New C2-symmetric chiral sulfurous diamides were synthesized from (1R,2R)-(+)-1,2-diphenylethylenediamine and used as efficient chiral sulfur–olefin hybrid ligands for enantioselective rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric 1,4-addition reactions. High yields (up to 99%) and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 96%) were achieved for both cyclohexenone and cyclopentenone substrates.
