Abstract
Art therapy assessments are utilized to assess clients’ functioning and strengths, understand presenting problems, identify treatment goals, and evaluate progress. This article presents the standardized administration of the ETC Assessment and introduces the ETC Assessment Record, a structured way for clinicians to summarize ETC assessment results and integrate them into treatment planning. ETC assessment individualizes the process and reduces power imbalances by increasing collaboration and transparency. A case illustration demonstrates the use and value of the ETC assessment and the assessment record in clinical practice. The authors hope that this article supports the standardization of ETC assessment, its utilization in clinical practice and research, and encourages future research.
