Abstract
This chapter examines the updated self-image of the European Union through the prism of the 2016 EU Global Strategy. It seeks to analyse and identify the external images of EU–India relations through the coverage of the Union in the Indian press and in Indian public opinion survey. EU–India relations are assessed through the three broad categories of visibility, cognitive and cultural resonance and emotive charge. The chapter concludes with reflections on Indian perceptions of some key concepts of EU Global Strategy and assesses what the EU Global Strategy might mean for the future EU–India ties.
