The Emergence of Hyper-Museums: Dubai's Museum of the Future
Dubai's Museum of the Future represents a bold reimagining of museological practice. This study introduces “hyper-museums” - spaces that move beyond preservation to actively construct visions of tomorrow. Through examination of innovative and fantastic exhibits, structural elements, and audience interaction, this research analyzes two key innovations: 1) engagement of visitors through mixed-reality environments and responsive spatial design and 2) utilization of architecture as an active participant in meaning-making. Drawing on frameworks of hyperreality, tourist gaze, and human-artifactual-natural systems (HANS), the paper reveals how these approaches merge to generate profound encounters that expand traditional museum boundaries. The analysis demonstrates how this institution advances beyond new museology principles to pioneer novel methods for public dialogue about possible futures, while prompting vital discussions about representation, inclusion, and the shifting purpose of cultural spaces in our technology-driven era.

In this paper, we introduce the use of ROMOT—a RObotic 3D-MOvie Theatre—to enhance love and sex movie scenes. ROMOT represents the next generation of movie theatres, where scenes are enhanced with multimodal content, also allowing audience interaction. ROMOT is highly versatile as it can support different setups, integrated hardware and content and, thus, it can be easily adapted to different groups and purposes. Regarding the setups, currently, ROMOT supports a traditional movie setup (including first-person movies), a mixed reality environment, a virtual reality interactive environment, and an augmented reality mirror-based scene. Regarding the integrated hardware, the system currently integrates a variety of devices and displays that allow audiences to see, hear, smell, touch, and feel the movement, all synchronized with the film experience. Finally, regarding to content, here we theorize about the use of ROMOT for romantic-related interactive movies. Though the work presented in this sense is rather speculative, it might open new avenues of research and for the film and other creative industries.

Reception aesthetics posits that audiences are not passive recipients of information but active participants in the interpretation and creation of films. From the perspective of reception aesthetics, the interactive relationship between audiences and films can be explored more comprehensively. This approach enables an analysis of how films derive vitality and meaning through audience interaction, reveals the socio-cultural connotations and aesthetic value of cinematic art, and examines the variations in audience reception across different social, historical, and cultural contexts. Ultimately, by drawing on the theories and methodologies of reception aesthetics, new narrative techniques and expressive methods in filmmaking can be explored, fostering continuous innovation and development in film art to meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of audiences. "Big Fish" blends reality and fantasy, incorporating a wealth of emotional elements into its surreal and imaginative cinematic style. This allows audiences to navigate between fantasy and reality, experiencing profound emotional resonance. From the perspective of reception aesthetics, Big Fish successfully triggers aesthetic expectations and facilitates aesthetic communication between the audience and the film through its diverse expressive techniques and unique artistic style, thereby contributing to a rich and varied cinematic art.

Background and Aim. Keratin is used as a structural element by numerous animal groups. Because of the strength and stability of keratin, few organisms can break it down and use it as a food source. Only a few insects, bacteria, actinomycetes, and fungi can use keratin as their sole carbon and nitrogen source. The enzymatic ability of fungi to degrade keratin has long been considered a key innovation in the evolution of animal dermatology. The aim of the work is to develop keratinolytic tests for use and to identify their pathogenicity in the diagnosis of dermatomycetes of small domestic animals.Materials and Methods. There were investigated the strains of the genera Trichophyton, Microsporum, and animal hair. The diagnosis for the detection of keratinolytic properties was carried out on three tests: hair perforation, nutrient media with grind animal hair and keratin hydrolysate. Results. The authors of this article present studies for diagnosing dermatophytosis in small domestic animals for pathogenicity using three keratinolytic tests: hair perforation, the addition of ground animal hair, and keratin hydrolysate to the culture medium. The three tests demonstrated high keratinolytic activity, which manifested as the formation of pegs on hair and the appearance of a clearing zone in the culture media under the influence of keratinase. It was also established that in media containing hair and keratin hydrolysate, the growth of cultures was faster, and the cultures did not exhibit pleomorphism, which is a positive aspect in terms of the accuracy and speed of diagnosis.Conclusion. Keratinolytic test allows to determine the pathogenicity of small domestic animal dermaticosis pathogens. The test showed that cultures do not form pleomorphisms, which contributes to the accurate identification of pathogens.

This study investigates the performance of a skirt sand pile (SSP) system beneath a circular shallow footing using three-dimensional finite element analysis calibrated against a large-scale experimental setup. The SSP, measuring 8.00 m in length and 1.00 m in diameter, was analyzed in a soft clay-sandy soil environment. The Mohr–Coulomb, hardening soil, and linear elastic models were employed to simulate the soil and structural elements. The innovative aspect of this study lies in the comprehensive evaluation of the SSP system's load-bearing capacity and settlement behavior, revealing its superior performance compared to deep cement pile (DCP). Numerical results demonstrated LBR improvements of 1.7 and 1.4 at settlement ratios (s/B%) of 10 % and 15 %, respectively, for the SSP, compared to LBRs of 1.3 and 1.1 for DCM. Additionally, the study explores the significant Influence of increasing SSP length (by 180 %), which resulted in a much greater increase in load-bearing capacity compared to similar changes in DCM. Another key innovation is the analysis of soil cohesion and friction angle effects, where increasing these parameters resulted in a reduction in settlement ratios from 36 % to 12 %, with the load-bearing capacity improving from 2 to 3.7. A significant and innovative aspect of this study is the soil-skirt sandpile interaction, which was found to have a much greater effect on the load-bearing capacity and settlement behavior than the traditional soil-deep cement pile interaction. This study provides critical insights into the efficacy of SSP systems in enhancing foundation performance, offering a cost-effective, efficient alternative to traditional deep cement pile, especially in layered clay-sand soil environments. The findings provide practical guidance for optimizing foundation design and improving the sustainability of geotechnical engineering solutions.

This study examines the intricate interplay between architectural design and visitor emotional responses at the Jewish Museum Berlin, focusing on how specific spatial elements such as the Holocaust Tower, Garden of Exile, The Voids, and The Axis elicit varied affective experiences. The research aims to extend the discourse on environmental psychology and architectural empathy, particularly within the context of memorial museums. Employing a non-intrusive approach, the study gathered emotional response data using the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) from 113 museum visitors, with 102 valid responses analyzed. Environmental conditions such as light, sound, and spatial design were quantitatively measured to correlate with emotional responses captured at the end of visitors' tours across the designated museum spaces. Findings revealed that architectural elements significantly influence emotional responses. High levels of negative emotions like fear and anxiety were markedly evident in the Holocaust Tower due to its minimal lighting and stark concrete structure. Conversely, the Garden of Exile induced more positive emotions through its use of natural light and greenery, emphasizing the role of biophilic design in enhancing emotional well-being. Statistical analysis supported these observations, with variations in emotional impact across different spaces demonstrating the profound effect of architectural design on visitor experiences. This study confirms that a variety of design elements and spatial strategies not only facilitate the presentation of historical narratives but also actively sculpt the emotional involvement and experiences of visitors. Our findings highlight the efficacy of emotionally-oriented architectural design in deepening the impact and engagement of museum visitors, emphasizing the transformative power of these environments in shaping visitor perceptions and interactions.

Animal traction is one of the key technological innovations that drove socioeconomic transformations in prehistoric societies. However, its emergence in Britain has remained poorly understood, mainly due to the limited preservation of physical evidence and the absence of iconographic representations associated with animal traction. Given the fragmented artefactual evidence, the osteological approach is the most promising method for advancing understanding of the development of this technology. The convergent results from two osteological approaches indicate that the earliest substantial evidence for cattle traction in Britain dates to the Middle to Late Bronze Age (1600 − 700 cal. BC). The beginning of this period is characterised by profound social transformations, such as agricultural intensification and the emergence of complex hierarchical social structures to which the technological innovation likely contributed. Animal traction was revolutionary, not only in enhancing cultivation capabilities but also fostering a new relationship between humans and animals. Cattle became active participants in communities’ life, working with humans to perform labour-intensive tasks that reshaped agricultural practices and economic structures.

The modern stage of constitutional law development is characterized by a rapid increase in the transnational influence of international organizations on the internal legal orders of sovereign states, which necessitates a theoretical rethinking of their role in the process of forming adaptive constitutionalism. International organizations have ceased to be exclusively external subjects of influence and have become active participants in shaping the constitutional and legal environment, capable of altering the parameters of national models of public authority. The subject of this study is a comprehensive understanding of the institutional role of international organizations as drivers of the transformation of the modern constitutional order in the context of globalization and digital restructuring. Particular attention is paid to the collisions between universalist standards and national legal specifics, which give rise to contradictions between the sovereignty of states and the necessity of compliance with transnational norms. At the center of the research is the process of institutionalizing adaptive constitutionalism as a responsive model that can reconcile international influence with the principles of constitutional identity. The methodological foundation of this work consists of modern approaches to comparative analysis, institutional theory, constitutional identity theory, and adaptive governance concepts. Both traditional legal-dogmatic and interdisciplinary methods have been employed: structural-functional, normative-comparative, case analysis, and contextual interpretation of judicial decisions. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the author's conceptualization of international organizations as structural elements in the process of forming adaptive constitutionalism. The necessity of normative recognition of adaptability as a constitutional-legal principle under conditions of multidimensional interaction between national and international actors is justified. For the first time, the institutional forms of participation of parliaments, constitutional courts, ombudsmen, and civil society in the process of reconciling international standards with national legal orders have been analyzed. Key contradictions between the doctrines of constitutional identity and universalization have been identified, and possible mechanisms for overcoming these contradictions have been proposed. The study emphasizes the prospects for digital constitutionalization and the formation of a transnational constitutional space. The research demonstrates that adaptive constitutionalism represents a legal response to the challenges of asymmetric globalization and political-legal polycentrism. The research also touches upon the role of multilevel public authority, judicial dialogue, the digital environment, and new forms of partnership between national and supranational institutions.

As the process of cell division has become better understood over the past decade, chromosomes have emerged as active participants in some of the key events of mitosis. Furthermore, it appears that chromosomes may contribute important structural proteins to the mitotic spindle machinery. The primary candidates for these roles are the chromosomal passenger proteins, a diverse set of antigens that share an unusual pattern of distribution during the cell cycle. These antigens are typically nuclear during interphase and colocalize with chromosomes in the early stages of mitosis. By the onset of anaphase, they have left the chromosomes to associate with the midzone of the spindle apparatus and, in some cases, the cleavage furrow. These proteins may be important regulatory or structural elements in such processes as prometaphase chromosome movement, sister chromatin disjunction, anaphase spindle stability, and cytokinesis. Zinc is essential for cellular homeostasis and acts both as a structural element and a secondary messenger in intracellular signalling. While the role of SLC39 (former ZIP) family transporters in breast cancer biology is intensively studied, the signalling function of SLC30 family transporters (former ZnT) remains insufficiently explored. This study investigates the involvement of SLC30 transporters in oestrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer. Bioinformatic and experimental analyses revealed that SLC30 transporters, particularly SLC30A1, SLC30A5, and SLC30A9, regulate the PTP/AKT/ESR1 pathway, contributing to hormone-independent ESR1 activation. Zn-dependent inhibition of PTP phosphatases modulates kinase signalling, promoting proliferation. Notably, high SLC30 expression correlates with improved survival, but serves as a negative prognostic marker under tamoxifen treatment. Here, we evidence that ESR1 directly represses SLC30 transcription and that zinc transporters form a regulatory feedback loop sustaining ER+ breast tumour progression. These findings position SLC30 transporters as active participants in signalling cascades, offering novel targets for therapeutic intervention in ER+ breast cancer.

Two-photon imaging of the immune system has revealed an active world of in vivo intercellular dynamics. Rather than static bystanders, immune cells have been re-cast as active participants in the local orchestration of immune responses. Their active motility and probing lead to new questions regarding how localization, motility, and cell-cell interactions contribute to immune responses. In combination with imaging, the use of fluorescent proteins and genetic approaches is also helping to define a role for endogenous receptor-ligand interactions and structural elements in supporting communication between the highly specialized hematopoietic cells that comprise the immune system. Although explanted tissue and organ systems are convenient for several applications, and can be established with minimal perturbation of cellular behavior or tissue environment many disease models and questions surrounding lymphocyte function require the development of stable imaging preparations that allow for long-term access to often difficult-to-reach tissues in the living animal. Here, we review emerging and established techniques for in vivo peripheral tissue imaging by two-photon microscopy.

The paper proposes a methodology for analyzing the system of interaction between an industrial enterprise and customs authorities in the process of carrying out foreign trade activities based on the classification and assessment of the system elements functions for performing customs operations and customs control. Foreign economic activity, which is a set of functions of organizations focused on the foreign market in terms of the chosen foreign economic strategy, as well as the forms and methods of work in foreign markets is considered as one of the key factors in the efficiency of an industrial enterprise. Analysis of the foreign economic activity of an industrial enterprise using the developed methodology will make it possible to determine the optimal and cost-effective options for performing customs operations related to the declaration and release of goods in accordance with the declared customs procedure. The focus on large participants of foreign economic activity, which are industrial enterprises, will allow using the results of the study to reduce non-production costs associated with the implementation of foreign trade activities by these enterprises. We have chosen an enterprise of the metallurgical industry that carries out foreign economic activity in cooperation with the customs authorities of the Russian Federation as the object of the system analysis in this research. At the same time the object of analysis is considered as a unified system that has the main system properties: integrity and divisibility, the presence of significant stable links between the elements of the system, the organization and the hierarchical structure of the system, integrative qualities. The object of the research is a complex-structured system of interactions between industrial enterprises that are participants of foreign economic activity and the customs authorities of the Russian Federation. The schemes of interactions of all elements of the four-level hierarchical structure of the analyzed system are illustrated.

This paper is based on extensive team research focusing on the reconstruction of the history of contact-induced change in Nahuatl from the first encounter with Spanish until the present day, taking into account both peripheral and central varieties. We trace the long-term trajectories of several morphosyntactic features that mark typological change: animacy as a grammatical category; the relational word as a lexical category; the formal distinction between comitative and instrumental markers; existential predicative possession; and relatively free word order. We argue that key innovations in Nahuatl during the colonial period are either borrowed from Spanish or begin as minor internal patterns that gradually become dominant due to similarity with an element of Spanish structure, and that these two processes have driven typological change in the language.

Economic development is inextricably linked to the introduction of new technologies that improve production processes, resource management, and economic activity organization. However, the scale and nature of this impact vary significantly depending on the industry, region, and level of technological integration in production, leading to ambiguous consequences for the economy. Given this, the study of mechanisms through which new technologies affect production processes and the identification of patterns of economic system transformation under technological progress conditions is becoming increasingly relevant. In the modern context, it is essential to determine the economic consequences of the widespread adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain, and 3D printing. Will these technologies lead to structural shifts in the economic system, or will their impact be limited to improving the efficiency of specific production processes? The answers to these questions will help assess the feasibility and prioritization of stimulating the development of Industry 4.0 technologies. Considering the importance of this issue, the article examines the impact of Industry 4.0 technologies on economic system transformation. The role of key technological innovations, including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain, and 3D printing, is analyzed concerning their influence on production process changes, resource optimization, and the formation of new economic relationships. The historical context of previous technological revolutions is reviewed, comparing their impact with modern changes driven by digitalization and automation. Theoretical approaches to understanding the diffusion of technology and its influence on economic growth are substantiated, drawing on the concepts of Joseph Schumpeter, Carlota Perez, and Klaus Schwab. Particular attention is paid to the socio-economic consequences of integrating intelligent technologies into production, particularly automation’s impact on the labor market, changes in institutional regulatory mechanisms, challenges of “surveillance capitalism,” and potential solutions. The paper also explores the prospects for the application of Industry 4.0 technologies across various economic sectors, including industry, energy, transportation, healthcare, and finance. Based on an analysis of current technological innovation trends, conclusions are drawn regarding potential scenarios for the transformation of the economic system in the near future. Key challenges and opportunities for government policy, business, and society in the context of technological development and structural economic changes are identified. The aim of the article is to identify patterns of technological impact on economic processes and to forecast their influence on the structural elements of the economic system in the context of the widespread adoption of Industry 4.0 production models. The study results indicate that at the current stage of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, particularly the transition to the Industry 4.0 production model, artificial intelligence should be considered a breakthrough technology. It radically reduces production costs while enhancing the effectiveness of complementary technologies such as the Internet of Things, 3D printing, and blockchain. Each of these technologies, both individually and collectively, contributes to changes in the established structural elements of the economic system. 3D printing, combined with the infrastructure of the Internet of Things and the computational capabilities of artificial intelligence, simplifies the production of customized goods, altering the structural element of the economic system related to product assortment decisions-essentially answering the question of “what to produce.” Additionally, 3D printing shortens the value chain of product creation, which in turn affects production methods, addressing “how to produce.” This structural element is also influenced by blockchain technology, which provides opportunities to reduce the transaction costs of regulatory institutions governing economic relations. Finally, the structural element of “for whom to produce” is transformed by the Internet of Things, enabling manufacturers to collect and analyze consumer data, ensuring production adapts to individual needs.

At the moment, one of the most demanding tasks for participants of investment-building activity is to find a way to objectively evaluate durability of certain materials, designs and construction in general, with account of complexity of construction products. The existing regulations permit direct or indirect assessment of whether construction objects meet the basic requirements during the design and construction stages, but they do not permit integrating the knowledge gained from long-term observations of construction objects and their structural elements throughout the construction object's life cycle. The introduction of expert-based assessment methods will allow expanding the list of criteria that significantly affect the durability of construction industry products. The article shows the practical application of the expert methods and experimental outcomes in determining the influence of the used materials on the durability of the critical structure.
