Abstract
The electron temperature in a 3-mm ID narrow-discharge-tube noble-gas positive-column plasma was measured. The experiments were conducted for the gas pressure from 0.1 to 10 Torr and the discharge current from 10 to 40 mA. The results show that except for helium gas, the electron temperature in a narrow-discharge-tube positive column does not depend monotonically on gas pressure, whereas significant discharge current dependence has been observed.
