Abstract

Effects of Mg substitution for Ni upon the structure, electric and dielectric properties of La2NiMnO6 ceramic have been investigated. Results show that Mg substitution for Ni strongly suppressed the grain growth. The impedance of La2Ni1−xMgxMnO6 ceramic monotonically increases while the dielectric constant and loss decrease with increasing x. The increase of impedance is attributed to the lowering of Ni ion with variable valance. The decreased dielectric properties can be explained by the enhanced grain and grain boundary effects.
