Abstract

The main object of this paper, which should be cons idered a descriptive survey in the general sense, i s to investigate the relationship between emotional e xpressions and impression management tactics. The related literature on emotions, the relationshi p between emotional expressions and impression management tactics could not be found. It is hypoth esized that the use of emotional expressions will varyaccording to which impression management tactic is used. Two different surveys were used in order to measure and assess the emotions expression s and impression management tactics. The survey conducted on 225 employees of the banking s ector. Data, obtained from questionnaires analyzed through the SPSS statistical packaged soft ware. The results show that, the supplication factor had a positive and significant effect on pos itive expressions; the intimidation factor had a positive and significant effect on negative expres sions. In addition, intimidation and job- involveme nt had a negative and significant effect on intimacy.
