Abstract

In the present paper, the wave propagation from a cylindrical cavity in an infinite medium exhibiting couple-stress is considered. The variations of Hoop-stress on the cavity surface are investigated for different couple-stress material moduli and wave lengths. Significant differences are found when compared with those based on classical theory of elasticity.
