Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of Schema based couple therapy on women's family function. The present study was semi-experimental with pretest-posttest design with a control group and a follow-up period of two months. The statistical population included all married women working in the education department of Tabriz in 2022. The sample consisted of 30 individuals who were willing to participate in the study and were selected as available sampling method. Then, 30 subjects were randomly assigned to the control group and 30 in the intervention group (based on the design of couple therapy). Data were collected using McMaster Family Function Questionnaire (FAD) (1950). The intervention of the couples therapy strategies based on schema were performed in 8 sessions of 60 minutes, but the control group did not receive any intervention. The data were analyzed using mixed analysis of variance (repeated measurement). The results showed that the effectiveness of schema-based couple therapy on family function was significant (p<0.001). According to the findings of the present study, it is concluded that schema-based couple therapy is effective on family function in married women
