Abstract
This research is motivated because poverty is one of the economic problems experienced in every country including Indonesia, Indonesia as one of the largest Muslim countries actually has one solution in alleviating poverty, namely zakat. Zakat if managed optimally is expected to be able to eliminate the gap between people who have excess assets and people who still need one of the indicators by increasing the Human Development Index (HDI) which in turn can have an effect on efforts to reduce poverty levels. The research method used is the Anylisis data panel where samples were taken as many as 12 provinces in Indonesia for 7 years starting from 2012 to 2017. The results of the study show that zakat has an effect on reducing the level of poverty in Indonesia.

Kemiskinan merupakan permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh negara-negara berkembang, termasuk Indonesia (Nasution, Z 2014 ), Kemiskinan saat ini bukan hanya menjadi permasalahan ekonomi semata namun lebih luas lagi kemiskinan adalah permasalahan yang dapat dilihat dari berbagai aspek seperti aspek sosial, aspek kesehatan, dan juga aspek pendidikan, untuk itu indikatornya pun bukan lagi berkiblat pada naik turunnya pertumbuhan ekonomi saja akan tetapi harus pula dilhat dari kualitas hidup manusia secara menyeluruh Dalam mengatasi masalah pembangunan manusia jangan hanya fokus mengurangi jumlah kemiskinan saja, namun bagaimana meningkatkan tingkat kesejahteraanya. Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara muslim terbesar sebenarnya memiliki sumber pembangunan ekonomi yang memiliki potensi yang dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat apabila dioptimalkan dengan baik, sumber pembangunan ekonomi tersebut ialah zakat. Penelitain ini ditujukan untuk melihat pengaruh pemanfaatan dana zakat dalam mengatasai permasalahan kemiskinan secara menyeluruh yang di lihat melalui indeks pembangunan ekonomi dimana diharapkan dana zakat juga akan berpengaruh pada pembangunan ekonomi
