The Effect of Training, Work Environment, Esprit de Corps, and Competence on Combat Readiness
Personnel combat readiness is the main focus of the Indonesian Air Force units in carrying out their main tasks. Air Squadron 15 (Iswahjudi Air Force Base) is one of the Indonesian Air Force units that is expected to have maximum personnel combat readiness, but in reality, the combat readiness of personnel in this unit is not yet optimal. Personnel combat readiness can be influenced by various factors. This study used a quantitative method with a sample size of 59 people, and data analysis was carried out using path analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that training has a direct positive effect on combat readiness, the work environment had a direct positive effect on combat readiness, and environmental factors had a direct positive effect on combat readiness. Esprit de corps had a direct positive effect on combat readiness, and competence had a direct positive effect on combat readiness. Furthermore, training had a direct positive effect on competence, the work environment had a direct positive effect on competence, esprit de corps had a direct positive effect on competence, and training had a direct positive effect on esprit de corps. It is recommended that Air Squadron 15 improve the combat readiness of personnel by increasing and improving the training process, work environment, esprit de corps, and personnel competence. In addition, further research is needed on the combat readiness of personnel by considering other relevant aspects. It is recommended that the Indonesian Air Force leaders in air units increase the combat readiness of their personnel by adding/improving the variables that influence it.

Losing members due to death in battle or desertion from their units is detrimental to the military unit. Both will interfere with the implementation of the overall task. Killed in battle were recorded as a hero and desertion was classified as an unlawful act. The desires of desertion of soldiers must be sought to be prevented, and become part of the task of the unit commander. Likewise, the work environment must be improved so that soldiers become comfortable in working or esprit de corps as a spirit of unity must be maintained and enhanced as the pride of the corps that is able to bind members in a single unit.
This quantitative study aims to empirically determine what factors directly influence the level of desertion intention of the soldier. By using structural equation modeling (SEM) estimation techniques on 302 Navy soldiers. The results of processing existing data found that esprit de corps is a very central aspect in an effort to reduce desertion intentions. Leadership also has a significant negative direct effect, although it is not as strong as esprit de corps, while the quality of work life has a direct but not significant negative effect on desertion intentions. It is interesting that the influence of leadership on esprit de corps is very significant. Leadership that pays attention to members through direct communication is capable of increasing unit esprit de corps.

The 469th Paskhas Command Battalion is one of the Indonesian Air Force units involved in the Operation Task. In carrying out these tasks, Yonko 469 Paskhas soldiers are required to always have high combat readiness. However, the combat readiness condition of these soldiers seems to be optimal because, in fact, there are still many problems related to the readiness of soldiers in carrying out assignments outside their homebase. These problems are influenced by several factors, both internal and external, including the condition of the psychological well-being of soldiers and how the leadership of the unit commander is. This study aims to analyze the effect of psychological well-being and servant leadership on the combat readiness of Yonko 469 Paskhas soldiers. The research method used is quantitative with multiple regression techniques. The number of research subjects was 126 respondents, who were selected using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique from a total population of 269 soldiers with the rank of officer, bintara, and tamtama. The Combat Readiness Scale, Psychological Well Being Scale, and Servant Leadership Scale were used to collect data using SPSS version 26. The results of the study prove that (1) psychological well-being has a significant effect on combat readiness, meaning that the higher the psychological well-being, the combat readiness soldiers are getting taller. (2) Servant leadership has a significant effect on combat readiness, meaning that the more optimal the leader in implementing servant leadership is, the higher the combat readiness level of soldiers will be. (3) Psychological well-being and servant leadership simultaneously have a significant effect on combat readiness, meaning that the higher the level of psychological well-being of soldiers accompanied by the optimal application of servant leadership from the leader, the higher the level of combat readiness of soldiers.
