Abstract

As the configuration of the F -117 was entirely designed by radar signature considerations, it followed that there would be major impacts on the aerodynamic design of the aircraft and its guidance and control system. This paper traces the history of the development of the vehicle, the reasons for specific configuration choices, and the impact they had on mo re traditional design criteria.
