Abstract

The oxygen concentration of the soil atmosphere was determined in an irrigated pasture sown to Dallis and Rhodes grass. It was found that variations in the chlorophyll content could not be explained on the basis of soil composition. A negative correlation between soil oxygen concentration and chlorophyll content of the leaves was found.
