Abstract

The optical absorption, fluorescence, phosphorescence and effect of irradiation on spectral properties of polyplatillenum (DNA–Pt complex) were studied. Two important features were fixed: the increase of the phosphorescence intensity of DNA caused by Pt binding to DNA macromolecules; and the increase of DNA photodegradation rate when Pt is incorporated in DNA.
