Abstract
Field tests showed that in years when the tarnished plant bug (Lygus lineolaris (P. de B.)) population was high yields of Fordhook 242 and Henderson Bush lima beans could be substantially increased in western New York through the application of insecticides. In addition, plants protected from tarnished plant bug nymphs with insecticide or by screening set more pods earlier in the season and reached maturity earlier than did unprotected plants.
