Abstract

In this conference paper we briefly describe the technique and present the results of calculations of the sensitivity of an active antenna used as an array element of Giant Ukrainian Radio Telescope (GURT) for various parameters of the underneath ground within 8-80 MHz frequency range. We use for calculations three sets of parameters which correspond to normal, wet and dry ground. We show the modeling results of dipole impedance and absorption area, as well as compare the sky noise dominance (SND) and system equivalent flux density (SEFD) of an active antenna placed above ground with predefined parameters.
