Abstract

Selective depletion of central serotonin by intracisternal injections of 5,6-dihydroxytryptamine failed to influence either the development or maintenance of DOCA-saline hypertension in the rat. Normotensive animals with spinal cord serotonin depleted by 83% maintained a normal level of arterial pressure.
