Abstract

A feature of the development of the chemical industry is the trend towards an increase in the production capacity of machine sets, production lines, and plants. Over the last ten years the capacity of chemical plants in the developed capitalist countries has increased 3.5 7 times /I/. In the USSR the capacity of individual production sectors has risen by a factor of 2.5 5 in the current five-year plan alone /2/ and the production capacity of equipment units by a factor of 2 4 /3/. The result has been a decrease in specific capital costs by 15 40% and in production costs by 6 30% /3/ while labour productivity has risen 1.5 4 times /2/ and other cost-benefit indices have improved in proportion.
