He has worked in the human rights field and in political affairs in the UN in Switzerland and Sudan, and produced many analytical reports, early warning notes and briefings as part of his work with the UN Mission in Sudan as an information analyst in the Joint Mission Analysis Centre from May 2006 to July 2011. His research interests are in foreign policy in Africa and the Middle East, political and economic developments in Sudan, and decision-making processes in Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf region.
