Abstract
A hydrocarbon enrichment gap in the Cenozoic reservoirs existed in the Dongpu and Shenxian depressions and the reason was uncertain. To explain this, we performed fracture analysis, studied stretching structural features of depressions controlled by north and south fault segments, and quantitatively examined fault activity using the fault activity rate. These three methods in combination allowed coupling research of structure and sedimentation in the two depressions. The results show that there were different structural features and activity differences. The north segment of the Lanliao fault showed a seesaw-like active characteristic, with migration and changes in subsidence and sedimentation centres. The south segment experienced successive action, and the different stage depocentres in Dongpu depression remained consistent. There was positive correlation between the fault activity rate and settlement. Favourable oil source conditions promoted oil and gas accumulation in the Dongpu depression, due to continuous fixed-point sedimentation. [Received: July 12, 2016; Accepted: March 3, 2017]
