Abstract
The purpose of the essay is to analyze the current applications design for English language learning, and to select the commonly used learning method, also to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the method. The essay aims to develop the new online application based on smart phone and use the new conception to make up for the shortcomings of the current applications to support the English language learning in a better way. The essay first introduces the background of the English learning, and in the review study, it explains the documents to introduce the concept of online learning and situated learning. Then the essay takes the vocabulary learning as an example, analyzed the learning process of the current applications. Through the introduction and analysis of the current process, the essay proposes a new design concept to develop the new application. The new application uses the situated learning method to add new feathers in the current applications. The essay displays each section of the new application. It is believed that the using of situated learning opens the windows of opportunities, innovatively shaping the way for students to learn.
