Abstract

A neutron activation method is described for the determination of thorium and uranium in rocks at the microgram and submicrogram levels. Radiochemical separations are carried out using the alpha-active nuclides protactinium-231 and neptunium-237 as tracers. The method is applied to the Standard granite XXX and the standard diabase XXX.
